Frontotemporal Dementia
In 2000, John Mackey was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia
(FTD). FTD differs from other causes of dementia such as Alzheimer's
disease. The areas of the brain affected by FTD are the frontal
and anterior temporal lobes which control reasoning, personality,
movement, speech, social graces, language, and some aspects
of memory.
For more information about FTD, contact The
Association for Frontotemporal Dementias (AFTD) by visiting
their website. |
